Privacy Policy

LevyTide is a property operations platform. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why we handle it, and the choices you have. Property managers who use LevyTide remain responsible for their use of resident and property data.
1. Who we are
LevyTide provides property management, maintenance, communication and emergency response software to property teams. For privacy questions, contact privacy@levytide.app.
2. Information we collect
- Account details — name, work email, role and the property or portfolio you manage.
- Resident and user details — information added by a property manager or user, such as unit number, contact details, role and assistance needs.
- Property activity — maintenance reports, communication records, emergency alerts, responses and activity timelines.
- Enquiries — anything you submit through our contact form.
- Technical data — device, browser and log information generated when you use the service.
3. Why we use it
- To manage property, unit, resident and maintenance information.
- To provide communication, dashboards and emergency-response tools.
- To respond to demo requests and support enquiries.
- To keep the service secure, reliable and free from abuse.
- To meet legal, safety and record-keeping obligations.
4. Legal bases
Depending on your location, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, your consent (for example, optional marketing), and legal obligations. Where local law requires it — including South Africa's POPIA and the EU/UK GDPR — property managers act as the responsible party or controller for resident data, and LevyTide acts as the operator or processor.
5. Sharing and subprocessors
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the platform — hosting, database, email and SMS delivery — under contract and only for the purposes described here. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect life and safety during an emergency. A current list of subprocessors is available on request.
6. Retention
Account, property and user records are kept for as long as the property remains active on LevyTide. Activity records are retained so that managers can review operational events afterwards. When an account is closed, we delete or anonymise data within a reasonable period unless we must keep it for legal or safety reasons.
7. Security
Access to property data is limited to authorised users and to LevyTide staff who need it to support the service. We use encryption in transit, role-based access controls and audit logging. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we ask you to protect your login credentials and to tell us promptly about any suspected compromise.
8. Your rights
You can request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate details, deletion, restriction, a copy of your data, or withdrawal of consent. If your data was added by a property manager, contact that manager first — we will help them respond. Email privacy@levytide.app and we will reply within the period required by applicable law. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children and vulnerable residents
LevyTide is licensed to organisations, not to children. Where a building houses minors or residents who need assistance, the property manager is responsible for obtaining the appropriate consent before adding their details.
10. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, we use contractual safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism recognised in your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced in-product or by email to account administrators, and the “last updated” date above will change.
